Terms of Service

Effective date: 9 September 2026

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Publifye AS, a company registered in Norway with organisation number 826 774 622 at Solbergliveien 91D, 0683 Oslo ("Publifye", "we", "us"). They apply to this website and to the Publifye services and applications described below. By using them, you agree to these terms.

1. What we provide

Publifye AS is a publishing house. We publish Bibles and books, we build the software we publish them with, and we build and run websites, email, publishing, payments and backups for churches, ministries and organisations. Our own services include:

Which services exist, and what each one does, changes over time. A service listed here today may be withdrawn, and a new one may be added.

2. Your account

Our services share one Publifye account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself, for what happens under your account, and for giving us information that is accurate and current. Tell us at once if you believe someone else is using your account:

3. Paying for things

Where a service or a title is paid for, the price and what it covers are stated at the point of purchase. Payment is taken by our payment processor, not by us: we do not receive or store your card number.

A purchase or subscription made inside an application from the Apple App Store is a transaction with Apple, governed by Apple’s terms, and it is managed and cancelled in your App Store account settings rather than by us. We do not state prices or introductory-offer lengths on this site, because the App Store is the authority on both.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Rights in content

The software, the websites and the titles we publish are owned by Publifye AS or licensed to us. Buying or subscribing gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them personally. It does not transfer ownership.

What you write, upload or build in our services stays yours. We do not claim ownership of it. We process it in order to provide the service to you, and to no other end; the Privacy Policy sets out how.

Biblical texts we distribute carry the licence of their own source, which is stated with the text.

6. Availability and changes

We do not promise that a service will be available without interruption. We may change, suspend or discontinue a service, and we may change these terms. Where a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice — by email, or on the service itself — before it takes effect.

7. Ending the agreement

You may stop using our services at any time, and you may ask us to close your account and delete your data: see the Data Deletion Instructions.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law. Except where the breach makes it impossible, we will tell you why.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Publifye AS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing in them limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory Norwegian law.

9. Privacy

How we handle personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement: Privacy Policy · Data Deletion Instructions

Publifye AS is the data controller. You have the rights the GDPR gives you over the personal data we hold, and you may complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority — Datatilsynet — at any time. The Privacy Policy sets out both.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are to be brought before the Norwegian courts, with Oslo District Court as the agreed venue. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, nor of the right to bring proceedings there.

11. Contact

12. The whole agreement

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any terms stated for an individual service at the point you buy or sign up for it, are the whole agreement between you and Publifye AS about the use of our services, and replace anything said earlier. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stands.
